Civilian Programs

Over the last 25 years we have been preparing, training police, corrections, security, military, and first-responder professionals throughout the world on how to respond to force-on-force encounters.

Our focus has always been on “real-world” training — because to train in any other way would not save lives.

It is our belief that the best technique or tactic needed to save a life is the one our students remember when their life depends on it. Sadly, most physical confrontation training doesn’t have this emphasis and, as a result, is largely a waste of time.

One of my favorite quotes is, “Everyone has a personal defense plan until they get punched in the face!”

Much self-defense training is just theory. That’s not our approach — we base our training on facts.

In our experience, this theory-based and non-real-world self-defense training is even more prevalent in programs for civilians. That’s why I joined forces with two other nationally-recognized trainers to form Vistelar Training Group in 2010 — with a mission to help the general public feel and be safe and able to defend themselves if attacked.
