Thank you – They loved it!

“I was able to attend the Weapon Retention Instructor class at ILEETA and was excited to bring it back to my department. As I’ve been able to share these skills with the officers in my department I’ve received many positive comments, such as ‘This is the best training we’ve had in long time!’

A streetwise, veteran command officer who is hesitant to most defensive tactics training because of the needed technical skill stated, ‘You showed very simple, gross motor skill movements to counter a suspect’s actions. Many times I found my “instincts” taking over during the practical exercises but they seemed to parallel the basic concepts that you were teaching. Very good training today. The troops enjoyed it and will feel comfortable utilizing the movements.’

The officers were thankful to learn the retention skills, have knowledge of the effectiveness of their holsters when used properly and to leave the training with the confidence to engage and win against a suspect determined to disarm them. Great system. Great instruction. I hope I can attend more of your training in the future so that I can share more with my officers.”

Dave Young is one of the best instructors I’ve been lucky enough to train with. I’ve taken the Redman instructor class and most recently the ARMA Intermediate Use Of Force Instructor class. Both classes included realistic drills and scenarios along with tactics, strikes, and maneuvers that anyone can learn to use in a life threatening situation. I would highly recommend Dave’s training to any law enforcement, military, or civilian group or individual. Thank you Dave!

Luke Wolfe, Coldwater, OH.

I was in the London, OH. IPW class. First I would like to say that the training was probably the best I have received in the 5 years I’ve been in this field. I enjoyed the hands on techniques as well as Dave’s knowledge and passion for Officer safety. I highly recommend this training or any of Dave’s courses.

Once again thank you Dave for all you do for us

Well let me start by saying if you need anything else please let me know. I very much enjoy teaching and training in defensive tactics and real world tactics. I have attened many schools out there and the way David Young handled and taught the ground defense course i took was fantastic. At the time I was an instructor at the NVCJA in northern virginia and thought it was easy to explain, keept simple and with gross skills, proven by doing hands on training as we learned. If we doubted what was taught or said Dave was very good about showing us and having us test any other theories or beleifs. Again he was full of knowleage and went somewhere with everything he tought us. I remember much and use it still with students today. It was up to date and real. Thanks again

I have attended several of Dave Young’s Instructor Courses over the last decade. He is one of the leading experts in Officer Survival. His dedication to officer’s surviving physical encounters with violent offenders is second to none. I would recommend his courses to any law enforcement officer that wants to learn how to really survive in the street.

Lieutenant Aaron Goldstein, Training and Community Services Division, Fond du Lac Police Department, Fond du Lac, WI

Several years ago a local technical college provided me the opportunity to attend one of Dave Young’s Use of Force courses in Florida. From the moment Dave started the class I immediately felt his passion for improving my skills as a police officer. Dave has dedicated most of his life to making other police officers better and it really shows in his courses. Dave’s dedication and commitment to his personal physical fitness and curriculum development are just two reasons I try and not miss him at the various law enforcment conferences around our state. Thanks for all that you do for us Dave! Stay Safe and Train Harder!!

I recieved the Basic Ground Defense and the Ground Defense Instruction Training from Dave Young. It put the possible situation in perspective for me as in this is training will be used in our profession probably sooner than later. Dave made a comment the first day of class saying “if you knew today that tommorrow you would be fighting for your life, would you start training today” I hope that is correct. You never know when you will need it. You cannot go wrong with this training. It is hard training and very exhausting but worth it when you need it!!
